Korolevs secrecy

BackNext

Around this time, Korolev’s life became secret. The Soviets kept Korolev’s name and location of his design bureau secret, Korolev would most likely been awarded a Nobel prize weren't for his secrecy(28)(52). Korolev's life was now being monitored by the KGB;  he could not do anything that might give his identity away. Korolev was not allowed public photographs, could not publicly wear his medals, and could not leave the USSR. Korolev would have to follow these rules for the rest of his life. He would not be allowed to take credit for any of his achievements.
